Forest School
At Leavening we have our own wildlife and Forest School site. This enhances our science curriculum and allows children to access nature.
Forest Education Resource Pack
These sessions will be led by Mrs Mitchell, who is currently doing the Level 3 Forest School Leader’s course. The children will participate in 8 weekly sessions on a rota throughout school and will include just some of the following activities:
- Den building
- Creative art outdoors
- Learning how to tie knots and make shelters
- Cooking on an open fire
- Making various objects and utensils out of wood, using specialist tools.
- Drama and story telling
- Maths and problem solving come to life.
- Flora and Fauna identification
- Team building games
