Leavening Weather Station -

1st Langton and Leavening Brownies and Rainbows.

We welcome girls from ages 5-10 and enjoy a lively programme of life-skills, activities, crafts, games, cookery, trips and Pack Holidays.Girls are encouraged to explore new activities, learn new skills, developing the essential life skill of learning to get along with others in a group, but most importantly have fun in a safe, supportive environment.

My name is Sarah Tonge and I lead one of the 3 local Rainbow units within Malton and Norton. Previously we all used to meet on a Wednesday night at the same time during term time. Our unit now has the opportunity to be able to meet on a Tuesday night instead. We will be meeting from 4.45 pm – 5.45pm term time only at Trinity Methodist Church, Commercial Street, Norton. Subs are £25.00 per term which is between 10 and 12 seesions. This works out at around only £2.50 per session. We currently have spaces available immediately. If your daughter is interested in girlguiding then please register her via and select 2nd Norton Rainbows as your preferred unit.

This group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, at 7.30pm in the methodist schoolroom.

We have a variety of speakers talking about a wide range of subjects including "Life in the Household Cavalry", "The Art of Dance" and "The Orchards of Ampleforth". There is also a summer BBQ, a Christmas meal and the group organises a produce show in the Autumn.

Leavening Embroidery Group.

This group was formed to produce a wall hanging for the church to celebrate the joining together of the Anglican and Methodist congregations following the refurbishment of the Church building, and also the 25th Anniversary of the YCA. Owing to the great success of the venture, the group continues to meet every Monday from 1.30pm- 3.30pm in the methodist schoolroom.

We are a friendly group who extend a warm welcome to newcomers of any ability. For more information, please contact Christine Addley on 01653 658560 or Bertie Harte on 01653 658039.
