Leavening Weather Station -

1st Langton and Leavening Brownies and Rainbows.

1st Langton and Leavening Brownies and Rainbows meet on a Monday night 6.15pm -7.30pm during term time. We welcome girls aged 5-10 between the two groups and enjoy a lively programme of life-skills, activities, crafts, games, cookery, trips and Pack Holidays. We are part of the great world-wide network of Girl Guiding and take an active part in wider activities and events from local to international level. Girls are encouraged to explore new activities, learn new skills, developing the essential life skill of learning to get along with others in a group, but most importantly have fun in a safe, supportive environment. Fees are £15 per term and we are a uniformed organisation, but we never want money to be a barrier to participation, so help is available if funds are tight. We are open to any faith and culture and encourage girls to explore personal belief and identity within the Brownie and Rainbow programme, participating in seasonal services at Leavening church as part of this. If you would like to know more generally you can explore the Girl Guiding UK website at , but for more info about our Pack please email the Unit guider Louise Hampson at or call 01653 658709 and leave a message.

This group was formed to produce a wall hanging for the church to celebrate the joining together of the Anglican and Methodist congregations following the refurbishment of the Church building, and also the 25th Anniversary of the YCA. Owing to the great success of the venture, the group continues to meet every Monday from 1.30pm- 3.30pm in the methodist schoolroom.

We are a friendly group who extend a warm welcome to newcomers of any ability. For more information, please contact Christine Addley on 01653 658560 or Bertie Harte on 01653 658039.
