2 Year Old Provision in Acorns Nursery

2 Year Old Provision (from April 2024)

A very warm welcome to all our 2 year old children, families and prospective families.

We currently offer provision within our nurturing and engaging nursery, for 2 year olds ( from April 2024) for 5 days a week from 8.55am until 3.10pm for a maximum of 15 children, term time only. This gives our children the time and attention needed to make the best start in school.

In our 2 year old provision we focus upon the Prime Areas of learning which are; Communication and Language, Personal Social and Emotional Development and Physical Development. We do this through short focussed adult led lessons, child centred play and provision and high quality adult interactions. Our children develop independence, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning to support them on their learning journey. 

In our classroom and outdoor area we learn and explore through a range of experiences and learning opportunities. Our classroom and outdoor areas include:

  • Water
  • Sand
  • Reading area
  • Writing/mark making area
  • Construction area
  • Role play area
  • Small world area
From April 2024, the government are offering free childcare hours for 2 year old children and our nursery offers the ideal opportunity to take advantage of this. To find out more information about the free funded places please visit:

I started working at Leavening Community Primary School in September 2020 as an Advanced Teaching Assistant in the Nursery.

I have a passion and love for the Early Years, completing a BA (Hons) Degree in Early childhood education in 2023.
