We have one admission date for all children following their fourth birthday: September. This is consistent with many other schools in the area and has proved to be the best option for our children’s learning. However parents should be aware that;
- parents can request that the date their child is admitted to the school is deferred until later in the school year or until the child reaches compulsory school age in that school year;
- parents can request that their child attends part-time until the child reaches compulsory school age.
At Leavening primary school we offer a creative curriculum where learning is personalised for individual children and takes place both indoors and outdoors. The learning environment in our infant classroom and outdoor learning area allows children to learn through play throughout key stage one and is enjoyed by our very youngest children.
Unlike School Admissions we are able to take Nursery children as soon as you would like after they have had their third birthday, Nursery hours are currently 9.00am to 12noon.
Nursery children have the option of staying for an extra hour for lunch at the cost of £2.40, for the care and £2 for the hot school lunch, they may also bring a packed lunch if you would prefer.
Admissions are governed by the Local Authority and parents have the option to appeal against their decisions.
