Leavening Community Primary School

Leavening Community Primary School is a Group 1 Local Education Authority School administered by North Yorkshire County Council whose central offices are in Northallerton.  The school, established in 1906 and extended in 1964, 2003 and 2007, takes in children of all abilities from 3 to 11 years of age.  The catchment area includes the villages of Acklam, Leppington, Scrayingham, Howsham and Thixendale as well as Leavening.  We also welcome children out of catchment and over the years have happily and successfully educated children from Malton, Norton and the surrounding villages that lie north, south, east and west of Leavening.

Leavening Community Primary School Nursery 

Nursery provision is currently available to children, the term after they turn 3 years old. Our nursery currently operates 5 mornings a week - 8.55am - 11.55am. 

Parents/carers are encouraged to register their child at an early age, even as young as 1 year old; this ensures information about our nursery and open days are distributed accordingly.

The Government currently fund 15 hours of early years provision at no charge to the parents/carers; these are broken down to 3 hour sessions here at our nursery. 

You can register your initial interest in our nursery either by emailing the school (see Contact Us) or by phoning the school on 01653 658313. Registration of interest does not mean you have to commit to your child coming to our school, it just means you get all the information you could need.
